Duo Tapware is a Faucet and a Fountain

A red dot award-winning design by Daniel So, the Duo Tapware effortlessly transforms from a mild-mannered faucet to a drinking fountain. Flip the handle up to turn it on with water exiting from the downward-facing port. Swing the handle clockwise or counter-clockwise to adjust the water temperature, just as you would expect from any other faucet.

However, by pressing the handle down, as in pushing it past the “off” position, directs water out the slightly-upward facing opening. The result is a friendly arc of water just like a drinking fountain. No more neck-kinking maneuvers or fumbling for a glass to rinse your mouth after brushing your teeth. It’s also a quick way to get a drink, provided, of course, that your tap water lives up to your personal taste. Perhaps Brita should talk to Daniel about a version with activated carbon filtering.

The Duo Tapware faucet may not be as fun as the Black Whale Faucet Fountain, but it is a lot more elegant. So, what do you do if you want to be able to have the functionality of the Duo in a more sophisticated form than the Black Whale Faucet Fountain? Perhaps give the Flipper Faucet Fountain accessory a try for less than $10 at Amazon.

I haven’t tried one, but wouldn’t mind if someone built me a house around it:)

@Tova: LOL! Some nice landscaping wouldn’t be bad either.
